Grade: TSG 11
Vacancy: One (1) Position


Job Purpose
To support the implementation of TAZARA’s corporate communication and public relations functions through effective media engagement, stakeholder communication, brand management, and dissemination of information aimed at enhancing the organisation’s public image and visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate media relations activities and facilitate accurate, timely, and professional dissemination of information to the public and stakeholders.
Draft for approval and distribute press releases, speeches, feature articles, public notices, newsletters, and other communication materials in line with approved corporate standards.
Monitor media coverage and public opinions relating to TAZARA and prepare reports, briefs, and appropriate responses where necessary.
Support the implementation of corporate branding, marketing, publicity, and stakeholder engagement programmes across the region.
Coordinate public events, exhibitions, trade fairs, media briefings, official visits, and corporate social responsibility activities.
Manage digital communication platforms, including social media channels and online public engagement initiatives.
Maintain effective working relationships with government institutions, media houses, customers, development partners, and other stakeholders.
Assist in crisis communication management by supporting timely and coordinated communication responses during operational disruptions or incidents.
Ensure consistency in the application of TAZARA’s corporate identity and communication standards across regional operations.


Qualifications and Experience

Form IV/VI Secondary School Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, or a related field from a recognised institution.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in public relations, media, or stakeholder engagement.
Not aged more than 45 years.
Proficiency in digital communication tools, social media management, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage crisis communication.
Possession of postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of graphic designs and multimedia tools will be an added advantage.
