Our mission is to build a structured, reliable fish distribution network that strengthens food security, creates economic opportunity, and delivers consistent value to communities across Tanzania and neighbouring markets including Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.Job Summary:The Sales Officer is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the market presence of our fish products through the establishment of various sales channels (incl. Community Traders Programme, growth of HORECA and supermarket accounts and expansion into regional and cross-border distribution).This field-based role involves developing strong relationships with clients and customers, identifying new market opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve sales goals. We are seeking a solution-oriented individual who can demonstrate proactive leadership, commercial judgement, and independent problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:Recruit, onboard, and manage community tradersDevelop and grow HORECA, supermarket, regional, and cross-border accountsCoordinate closely with the second Sales Officer to align strategy and market coverageManage daily cash collections, credit control, and repayment trackingCoordinate delivery schedules and distribution logisticsIdentify and support establishment of a strategic depot location in KigomaMonitor sales performance and adjust recruitment, pricing, or channel strategy as neededRepresent Tanganyika Blue professionally with traders, distributors, and institutional buyersQualifications & Experience:Basic understanding of pricing, margins, and credit managementWillingness to travel within the region, including potential cross-border engagementExperience in sales, distribution, FMCG, agribusiness, cross-border trade and working with informal traders and structured clients is favourable, but not mandatoryA bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a valid driver's license and clean driving record are favourable, but not mandatorySkills & Competencies:Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills with the ability to lead sales presentations and close deals.Analytical abilities, with attention to detailSelf-driven with the capacity to make well-informed decisions.Proficiency in Swahili and English (spoken & written) is essentialEqual Opportunity Statement:Tanganyika Blue is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity in the workplace.
