Sales Officer – Potatoes & Food Products
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Officer to drive sales of potatoes and other food products across Dar es Salaam. This role is crucial for acquiring new customers and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients in the retail, wholesale, and food service sectors.
Role Summary
Responsible for driving sales of potatoes and other food products across Dar es Salaam. Focus on acquiring new customers (retailers, wholesalers, food service) and maintaining key accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve monthly sales targets for potatoes and assigned food items.
Identify and onboard new distributors, market vendors, and small-scale retailers.
Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat orders.
Monitor product quality, pricing, and competitor activity in local markets.
Collect payments and coordinate with logistics for timely delivery.
Report daily sales, market feedback, and stock needs to the supervisor.
Requirements
1–2 years of sales experience in FMCG fresh produce, or food distribution in Tanzania.
Knowledge of Dar es Salaam’s market dynamics and key food trade hubs.
Ability to work with low-margin, high-volume products.
Valid motorbike license (preferred) or willingness to travel extensively.
Basic Swahili and English communication skills.
Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience can substitute.
