Senior Accountant
LOLC Tanzania is looking for a Senior Accountant to work in Dar es Salaam. The company is a financial services provider that offers loan solutions to individuals and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing and approving bank, product, receivables, and payables reconciliations.
Preparing financial statements and coordinating external audits.
Supervising financial operations at branch-level, which includes cash management and loan file custody.
Ensuring the timely processing of payments, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
Supporting the Head of Finance in creating MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Training and mentoring finance staff and new recruits.
Updating finance policies and procedures to align with business and regulatory changes.
Participating in system enhancements and maintaining financial documentation.
Collaborating with other departments on finance-related issues and responding to audit queries.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A CPA (T) qualification is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Mandatory experience in a financial institution.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
