Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is an international non-profit research organization dedicated to discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems.IPA works in partnership with development partners and academic researchers to create and evaluate approaches potential solutions to poverty problems using randomized evaluations in the fields of health, education, microfinance, governance, and agriculture. We also mobilize and support these decision makers to use these solutions to build better programs and policies at scale.
POSITION: Senior Field Officers (3 positions)
DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 7thSTART DATE: June 18thLOCATION: Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Tabora, and MorogoroREPORTING TO: Field ManagerLENGTH OF COMMITMENT: 1.5 months with the possibility of extensionELIGIBILITY: Position open to local Tanzanian hires only.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Help ensure that targets are met on time and that all activities are carried out in accordance with the study design.
Schedule and attend meetings between IPA and Local Leaders.
Ensuring effective communication between all the team members
Ensure data integrity is maintained at all times and minimize errors in recording all data.
Accurate daily reporting and tracking for oneself and within assigned team.
Demonstrate integrity and understanding during interaction with community members and local leaders
On non-field days, accurately perform office duties for instance translation and data entry.
Maintaining security and quality of project assets and materials.
Overseeing a field team of up to 10 field officers
Diligent planning of all field activities to ensure mobilization and data collection goals are being hit
Frequent check-in with field staff and problem-solving of field activities
Ensuring staff is familiar with goals and procedures.
Punctuality: both to determined daily schedule, scheduled meetings with local leaders, and appointments with participants.
Maintain team cohesion and respect among team members.
Maintaining security and quality of project assets and materials.

Qualifications

Management experience is required.
A Certificate, diploma or bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field is required
Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and team player
Excellent verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
Well organized, detail-oriented, and excellent listening skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
At least 2 years of research experience
Preferred experience with STATA and SurveyCTO
A strong interest in the field of impact evaluation
Experience in both qualitative and quantitative data collection.
