Senior Manager – Transportation & Fleet Operations

HR World Limited on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Manager – Transportation & Fleet Operations who will be responsible for leading the transportation department, managing fleet assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence to support business growth.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of dispatchers, driver supervisors, maintenance coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair programs to keep all vehicles in optimal condition and compliant with SUMATRA regulations.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation tasks to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods to customer-specified locations.
Optimize routes and dispatch schedules to maximize utilization, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Act as the company’s primary safety officer, ensuring strict compliance with HSSE standards, transport regulations, and labor laws.
Manage budgets, monitor fuel consumption, and analyze fleet lifecycle costs to optimize return on assets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, while resolving operational issues and customer complaints.
Lead accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and organize regular driver safety training sessions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification e.g., CILT is an advantage).
5–8 years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
Proven team management experience with strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency in fleet management software (TMS) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost control, and operational reporting.
