SENIOR PLANT ACCOUNTANT
Principal Accountabilities:
Data Collection
1. Construct data in ERP for a cost accounting system
2. Create and review the controls needed for inventory Management
Inventory
1. Coordinate physical inventory courts and cycle counts
2. Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
3. Update standard costs in the costing sheets and ERP Costing System
4. Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
5. Validate the cost of manufactured products as part of the month-end close
6. Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting princi ples
7. Work with the laboratory to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
Analysis
1. Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
2. Report on margin by product and division
3. Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
4. Analyze capital budgeting requests
Administration
1. Training and supervising accounting staff at the Tanga LOBP 2. Monitoring compliance with HSSEQ requirements
3. Procurement & Monitoring of office consumable
4. Managing Suppliers and other external stakeholders
Desired Qualifications: 3+ years of accounting/ finance experience, or 2+years' experience in manufacturing industry (Preferably Lubricants/ Oils Manufacturing Industry). Also, a BA/BS degree, as well as excellent analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi develop ment team. Also, helpful to have experience manipulating database.
