Position: Senior System Administrator Officer
Reporting to: Head of Information and Communications Technology
Responsibility:

This position is part of the IT operations team of VisionFund Tanzania and its purpose is to supervise the system administrators to ensure IT services are robust and reliable. In addition, handle fully administration of T24 and Aruti system

Main tasks

Ensure the both systems uptimes are 24x7x365 with latest patches and software
Innovatively maintain and improve performance of the system
Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of data being processed, stored and retrieved
Installing latest patches and updates
Keeping records of releases against dates of release and installation
Keeping backups of old environments before migrations


Keeping all environments with relevant released configuration and data


Charged with installation, supporting and maintenance of servers
Ensure both systems comply with MIS policy
Maintain admin and user Guides
Lead COB batch processing team
COB execution as per COB guide in monthly shifting
COB report preparations and deliver to business or sub automated system in monthly shifting
Report all incidents such as end user experience, server bugs, power failures, network failures. Nothing should be considered small
Prepare monthly report on system situation
Conduct monthly closure checklist as per template
Work with HOD on business plan target and establish annual plan
Facilitate communication between IT staff, vendors, ISPs to improve SLA;
Work with Senior Infrastructure & Integration Officer to observe if the IT Security standards are adhered
End-user support via helpdesk; this includes problem solving activities, conflict resolution, escalations, and systems restart and recovery.
Support HOD on develop SLA and monitor its execution

Education/Experience

BSC. In ICT, IT or Computer Science
Proficiency in system administration
Good mentoring and coaching skills
Good knowledge of Microfinance or Banking
Good skills in planning, coordination and reporting
3 years’ experience in handling system administration job


Linux, Windows server, database (Jbase and SQL) management knowledge
Familiar with the bank core business and Field data capture systems i.e. ODK
Familiar with latest recommendable programming languages for frontends, backends, APIs


Model and demonstrate effective Christian leadership and participate in daily devotions

Special / Personal Abilities

Excellent character and unquestionable integrity
Willingness and ability to efficiently work in a team
Good oral and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
Model and demonstrates effective Christian leadership
Good knowledge on economic and financial topics and sufficient experience in the loan business of VFT-MFB is added advantage
