Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Filing: Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing and payment of all statutory taxes while maintaining compliance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Tax Advisory & Research: Conduct tax research, analyze business transactions, and provide practical tax advice to support informed business decisions and compliance.
Tax Risk Management & Controls: Identify potential tax risks, monitor legislative changes, and implement effective controls to minimize tax exposures and compliance gaps.
Tax Audits & Regulatory Engagement: Support tax audits, investigations, and assessments by coordinating documentation, responding to regulatory queries, and managing tax disputes.
Tax Accounting & Reporting: Prepare tax reconciliations, provisions, and computations while ensuring accurate tax accounting and reporting in line with IFRS and company policies.
Stakeholder Management & Process Improvement: Collaborate with tax authorities, auditors, and internal departments while driving process improvements, automation, and tax technology initiatives to enhance efficiency.


Competencies

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good knowledge of Tanzanian tax legislation and IFRS.
Strong technical tax knowledge.
Good stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Experience dealing with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) will be an added advantage.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
CPA (T), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3-4 years' relevant experience in taxation, preferably in a multinational company, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, or a reputable audit/tax consulting firm.
