Job Overview
Simera Transport Limited is looking for experienced Transit Drivers to join its logistics team. Successful candidates will operate heavy-duty trucks on long-distance routes across East and Southern Africa, particularly to Zambia, Malawi and Rwanda. The role requires strong driving skills, knowledge of road safety regulations, proper vehicle care and the ability to ensure timely and secure cargo deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Long-Distance Driving: Safely operate heavy-duty transit trucks on regional cross-border routes, particularly to Zambia, Malawi and Rwanda.
Vehicle Operation: Operate manual transmission trucks, specifically FAW and HOWO models, efficiently and responsibly.
Safety and Compliance: Comply with road safety regulations, border-crossing procedures and company transport policies.
Cargo Safety: Ensure goods are transported safely and delivered without damage or unnecessary delays.
Vehicle Inspection: Conduct basic vehicle inspections and identify issues that may affect vehicle safety or performance.
Responsible Driving: Maintain high standards of discipline, professionalism and road safety throughout assigned journeys.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Education: O-Level Secondary Education Certificate or a vocational/technical driving certificate.
Work Experience: Three to five years of proven experience in long-distance transit driving.
Driving Licence: Possess a valid driving licence.
Travel Documents: Have a valid passport for international travel.
Technical Skills: Demonstrate experience operating FAW and HOWO manual transmission trucks.
Personal Attributes: High sense of responsibility, strong discipline and commitment to road safety.
