Position Summary
Assemble Insurance is seeking a qualified and experienced Underwriting Officer to join its team in the General Insurance department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing insurance proposals, evaluating risks and determining their acceptability in accordance with the company’s underwriting guidelines, policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or a related field.
At least three (3) to four (4) years of relevant experience in General Insurance underwriting or a related insurance function.
Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, CII, AII or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of General Insurance principles, underwriting guidelines and risk assessment procedures.
Ability to evaluate insurance proposals and determine risk acceptability.
Knowledge of premium rating, policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties.
Good understanding of insurance regulatory requirements and compliance standards in Tanzania.
