Responsibilities
Manage the license acquisition, license compliance and license renewal for all types of licenses needed in the MCommerce operation.
Support the business development teams and provide expertise and leadership in acquiring appropriate new licences when the business needs them.
Advise, guide, review and lead the teams when negotiating for new licences, new type of licences or renewal of existing licences, specifically ensure adequate and appropriate frequency and spectrum allocation.
Develop standards and guidelines to be used in the Group for acceptable MCommerce licence terms, conditions and obligations.
Manage all MCommerce operating licences and ensure that:
All obligations are met during the life of the licence. These obligations include, roll out, universal service and reporting obligations.
Penalties are not levied against the business due to non-compliance with obligations made in the licences
Our performance in each MCommerce licence positions us well when our licences come up for renewal
Ensure adequate availability and utilization of spectrum and numbering for smooth growth of Mcommerce business and satisfactory services to our customers.
As per the MCommerce business requirements based on the marketing plan
Manage MCommerce license obligations, including universal service obligations and roll out obligations.
Pay all annual/quarterly fees timely as required by the licences awarded to the business
Nurture an effective working relationship with government and other relevant parties involved in licensing decisions to obtain and sustain proper and profitable agreements for Airtel MCommerce.
Provide expert advice and useful input to government authorities on the licensing framework in countries in which we operate.
Ensure that Monthly and Quarterly reports are submitted to management and significant events are brought to management attention immediately.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills
A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Law, an advanced degree desirable.
Must understand licensing regulations
A solid knowledge of the industry, telecommunications technology, telecommunications products and industry trends

Relevant Experience
More than 5 years' experience in Corporate Organization plus an additional 3 years in licensing – specifically negotiation of new licences or equivalent.
