Retail Credit Operations Officer

Job Purpose
The Retail Credit Operations Officer is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of loan applicants through financial analysis, review of credit history, and evaluation of relevant risk factors. The role also ensures accurate loan processing, compliance with credit policies, and efficient customer service throughout the loan lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Capture and process loan application data accurately in the loan management system.
Review customer information and confirm eligibility in line with established credit policies.
Track loan application status and communicate updates to applicants and relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and Branch Managers to facilitate loan approvals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal credit policy requirements during loan processing.
Collect, verify, and maintain accurate documentation for all loan applications.
Conduct comprehensive credit assessments and evaluate applications based on predefined risk criteria.
Provide recommendations for loan approval, rejection, or escalation where necessary.
Review loan applications and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Support the determination of appropriate loan terms, including interest rates and repayment schedules.
Handle customer inquiries regarding loan status, repayments, and bank policies.
Provide post-disbursement support and assist in loan servicing activities.
Address and resolve customer complaints or discrepancies in loan documentation in a timely manner.

Knowledge of banking products and credit processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Academic / Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of working experience at Officer level, preferably in credit operations or banking.
