Rafiki Social Development Organization (Rafiki-SDO) is a leading non-governmental and non-profit making organization dedicated to development and advocacy. Project: Mwalimu Kwanza, Elimu Bora

Rafiki-SDO is embarking on the implementation of the 'Mwalimu Kwanza, Elimu Bora' project. This vital initiative aims to significantly improve teacher motivation, enhance professional development, boost attendance, and elevate overall performance. We will achieve these goals through comprehensive capacity building, active community engagement, and the strengthening of school systems.

Job Opening: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

To ensure the effective implementation of the 'Mwalimu Kwanza, Elimu Bora' project, Rafiki-SDO is seeking to recruit qualified and highly motivated candidates. We have one opening for the position of:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer – Mwalimu Kwanza, Elimu Bora project (1 Post)

Duty Station:

Geita / Shinyanga Region

Reporting To:

Program Manager

Job Purpose:

The M&E Officer will be instrumental in designing and implementing a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) system specifically for the teachers' motivation project. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality data collection, accurate analysis, timely reporting, and the effective use of data for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project M&E plans, tools, and frameworks.
  • Support data collection, verification, and validation processes at the field level.
  • Maintain project databases, ensuring data quality and integrity at all times.
  • Analyze collected data and generate insightful reports and dashboards to drive program improvement.
  • Ensure data is meticulously disaggregated by gender, age, and vulnerability status.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and crucial donor reports.
  • Conduct supportive supervision and provide capacity building for staff on M&E tools and processes.
  • Document best practices, valuable lessons learned, and inspiring success stories.
  • Ensure strict compliance with data protection, safeguarding, and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in M&E, with a preference for experience within the education sector or an NGO setting.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Excel, SPSS, or similar software.
  • Experience with digital data collection systems is considered a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of gender-sensitive and inclusive data systems is essential.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
