Jhpiego, implementing a number of projects in Tanzania, wishes to recruit the following positions, available for immediate filling.

Position: ART Outreach Coordinator [One position oversees Morogoro, Dodoma and Iringa]

 

The ART Outreach Coordinator will provide technical oversight for the ART interventions in the regions. S/he will colaborate with the Sauti project ART Outreach Specialist to provide technical assistance on the provision of ART to KVP. The incumbent will also provide guidance, monitoring and technical assistance on ART outreach services to the R/CHMTs and to the sub awarded CSOs; as well coordinate the ART outreach operations through the CBHTC+. S/he will provide technical and programmatic assistance that incorporates evidence-based best practices in the coordination, monitoring and assessment of ART outreach programming and ensure adherence to approved protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Sauti ART outreach portfolio in the designated region(s), in collaboration with staff, implementing partners and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure implementation of ART outreach adheres to the approved SOPs
  • Plan and roll out ART-related trainings to biomed providers (nurses, clinicians, laboratory technicians and pharmacy technicians)
  • Train CBHS providers on demand creation
  • Coordinate with the SBCC team on the development and roll out of the CBHS providers orientation package on ART outreach demand creation
  • Plan and roll out R/CHMT related meetings and orientation
  • Facilitate the identification of platforms for ART outreach delivery – WORTH+ groups, Empowerment clubs, brothels
  • Develop linkages between ART outreach service delivery points and mother Care and Treatment Clinics
  • Establish and monitor ARV medications flow
  • Establish and monitor data management / reporting flow
  • Monitor the identification of HIV-infected KVP, ART counselling and initiation
  • Monitor the ART adherence, retention and viral load
  • Develop ART outreach related reports in coordination with Regional M&E team
  • Conduct supervisory visits to assess ART outreach activities and supervise the biomedical team (nurses, clinicians, laboratory technicians and pharmacy technicians)
  • Contribute to the Sauti multidisciplinary team approach in planning and monitoring of the project
  • Participate to meetings: internal Sauti meeting, monthly C&T IP meeting, CSO meetings, HIV C&T regional forum, other meetings as appropriate
  • Promote and support the dissemination of project best practices and lessons learned among the project team, key stakeholders (R/CHMT, PEPFAR partners and any other local KVP partner), local partners (CSOs), and cultivate strategic relationships and alliances with other partners in the respective region
  • Work collaboratively with other project team members to ensure necessary project planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently
  • Document experiences, prepare program and site visits reports, presentations, briefs and artides/success stories
  • Strengthen communication and collaboration with LGA at all levels to ensure ownership and sustainability of the program; particularly, maintain communication with R/DACC, R/DLT, R/D Pharm, CHAC

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

  • Medical or Nursing degree required, with additional post-graduate training in public health desirable
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience working in one or more areas of biomedical HIV prevention including: HIV care and treatment (required), HIV Testing Services, TB and TB/HIV, PMTCT, and Community Based HIV Services
  • Proven supervision and leadership skills, as well as skills in training, facilitation, team building and coordination
  • Strong leadership and technical capacity to support service delivery, especially at the community level
  • Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature HIV/AIDS, family planning, TB and STIs
  • Strong change management, results-oriented and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Experience in KVP or related programs
  • Experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating HIV public health programs
  • Experience working in the Tanzanian public health sector highly desirable particularly in areas of HTC, HIV care and treatment, family planning, and TB.
  • Experience working with USG programs is highly desirable
  • Experience and understanding of the PEPFAR framework is desirable
  • Ability to travel in and out of the region for up to 70%
