Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) - Internship Opportunities 2026/2027
The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated Tanzanian graduates for various internship positions for the 2026/2027 financial year. This internship program is designed to offer young graduates practical workplace experience, professional mentorship, and opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
Artisan II – Carpentry (1 post)
6.2 Duties and Responsibilities
To perform specified carpentry craft jobs under close supervision;
To record carpentry repair and maintenance reports;
To assist in conducting carpentry repair and maintenance activities;
To assist in ensuring the safety and security of carpentry facilities and personnel;
To take care of carpentry tools and equipment;
To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
6.3 Qualification
Holder of Form IV or Form VI Certificate of Secondary Education, plus a Certificate, Trade Test II, National Vocational Award Level II (NVA II) in Carpentry, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
General Conditions / Guidelines
Nationality: All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age at the time of application.
Application Completeness: Applicants must attach a signed application letter indicating the internship position applied for, together with their recent passport size photograph and an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing reliable contact details, including postal address, email address, and telephone number(s).
ajiraAcademic Documentation: All applicants must attach certified copies of their academic certificates, academic transcripts, Form IV/Form VI certificates, and birth certificate.
Result Slips/Transcripts: Result slips, testimonials, and partial transcripts will NOT be accepted.
Foreign Certificates: Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates are verified and evaluated by the relevant authorities (TCU or NECTA, as applicable).
N.B.: This is an internship placement programme aimed at skills enhancement. Therefore, no permanent employment is guaranteed upon completion of the internship period.
