Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through Global Fund Grants is looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions:

NATIONAL MALARIA CONTROL PROGRAM

Job Title: Epidemiologist – 1 Position

Location: Dodoma

Reporting To: SME unit

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide overall technical guidance on the design and implementation of surveys.
  2. Provide overall leadership in the management of database for malaria indicators generated from various sources and ensure optimal use of data
  3. Provide overall guidance on conducting comprehensive analysis of available data from various sources. Assess coverage of other interventions that have similar impact to malaria interventions including climate data
  4. Provide guidance for routine monitoring, such as therapeutic efficacy, insecticide resistance, malaria vectors, residual efficacy studies, key operations research studies necessary to inform programmatic decisions
  5. Assess the plausible attribution of the malaria prevention and control interventions to any observed decreases in malariarelated morbidity and child mortality due to malaria for a given period
  6. Provide guidance in the development of dissemination plan including malaria bulletins.
  7. Lead the process for identification of key lessons learned and document best practices from evaluations and studies to be integrated into SME plan and annual work plans

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. At least seven (5) years of relevant experience in epidemiology and tropical medicines
  2. Proven knowledge of social research methods, especially survey methodology.
  3. Experience working with international or national partners including international or regional organizations and national institutions
  4. Expertise in all aspects of data analysis with special regard to an age and gender perspective.
  5. Proven ability to manipulate and present data by using standard tabulation and statistical software packages.
  6. Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including drafting skills. Excellent knowledge of English.
  7. Advanced university degree in epidemiology with a strong quantitative or analytical component.
  8. Age limit: 50 years

Terms of Employment: 3 years Contract (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds)
