YWCA of Tanzania - Programme Assistant (2 Positions)
The YWCA of Tanzania is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve justice, peace, gender equality, good governance, health, and environmental care. We address community needs through relevant programs, focusing on girls, young women, and women. YWCA Tanzania is part of the global YWCA movement in over 125 countries, founded in 1855 and formally established in 1894. YWCA is the world’s oldest women’s movement. In Tanzania, YWCA was founded in 1959 and registered as a national organization in 1969 with its headquarters in Dar es Salaam. Currently, YWCA Tanzania has 20 operating branches and three groups across the country.
Programme Assistant (2 Positions)
Location: YWCA Tanzania Headquarters
Provide administrative, technical, and coordination support to the YWCA Tanzania Programme team to ensure effective planning, implementation, documentation, and reporting of activities aligned with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in data collection, research, proposal writing, and reporting.
- Assist YWCA branches for various programs implementation.
- Support the development and monitoring of work plans and budgets.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and partner engagements. nafasi za kazi
- Handle travel and event arrangements with proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate programme files and draft correspondence, contracts, and management reports.
- Update programme information on communication platforms including YWCA website and assist with translations.
- Prepare briefs, letters, and other communication materials.
- Ensure compliance with YWCA Constitution and policies.
Qualifications:
- First Degree.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Excellent English and Kiswahili oral and written writing skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of development issues (women, youth, health, gender, empowerment).
- Strong computer skills, including database and internet use.
- Highly organized and proactive.
