Americares Foundation Tanzania is seeking qualified Offeror for the Improvement of WASH related Infrastructure in 4 health centers; Kifura, Mabamba, Kagezi and Nyaruyoba in Kibondo District, Kigoma Region:

The quotation should be submitted on company letterhead and signed. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions (below) in preparing your quotation.

Specifically, the main tasks that the selected contractor will have to successfully complete are:

• Mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment and materials to mentioned 4 health centers in Kibondo District

• Site preparation, setting up of the equipment and clearing of site after completion of construction works.

• KIFURA HEALTH CENTER

• Construction of 3.5m raiser to accommodate additional storage tanks with 10,000 lts capacity plastic tank to serve the entire health center.

• Improve and lay new water pipe for the water distribution network of 384 m to cover all health center buildings where water is needed.

• Construction of 2 water points and gate valve chambers

• Rehabilitate one toilet block serving the pediatric ward,

• Improve internal plumbing in the building for water supply, this include installation of high priority IPC appliances of 16 IPC taps and 9 sinks, 6 flushing system and 4 WC squatting sink with its fittings.

• Improve of drain system from hand washing basin and other sources to existing septic tank and chambers for proper disposal areas.

Liaise with Americares Tanzania, Kibondo District Medical Officer, Kibondo RUWASA, Kibondo District Council and Health center’s management frequently and provide regular updates on progress and challenges.

• MABAMBA HEALTH CENTER

• Construction of 3.5m raiser to accommodate one plastic tank 5,000 lts new plastic tank, and rehabilitate existing pump house.

• Rehabilitation of existing distribution network of 154 m length, for 32 mm HDPE pipe and IPS pipes of 32mm and 20mm to be replaced, including replacement of 6 gate valves with new ones also replaces other fitting which are not in good condition,

• Construction of 2 water points and gate valve chambers

• Replace of 14 IPC taps for hand washing basin with IPC compliance taps for those which have high priority.

• Replace of 16 drain traps from hand washing basin which are not working and install 2 new flashing system.

• Replace 2 squatting WC toilet sink with new ones.

Liaise with Americares Tanzania, Kibondo District Medical Officer, Kibondo RUWASA, Kibondo District Council and Health center’s management frequently and provide regular updates on progress and challenges.

• KAGEZI HEALTH CENTER

• Replace the existing pump for pumping water to raised tank with the new one and fix leakage to the existing 10,000 lts tank and install first flush diverter to rainwater pipe toward the tank.

• Improve internal plumbing in the building for water supply, this include installation of 20 IPC taps and 5 sinks, 3 flushing system.

• Rehabilitate and install new wastewater collection/ outlet pipes and its fittings (PN 10) for hand washing basin, bathrooms, laundries, WC and pour flush toilets for proper management and disposal.

Liaise with Americares Tanzania, Kibondo District Medical Officer, Kibondo RUWASA, Kibondo District Council and Health center’s management frequently and provide regular updates on progress and challenges.

• NYARUYOBA HEALTH CENTER

• Construction of 3.5m raiser to accommodate additional one storage plastic tank with 10,000 lts to serve the entire health center and install first flush diverter to rainwater pipe toward on ground existing 10,000 lts tank

• Expand and rehabilitate minor leakage for the existing network to cover OPD building.

• Construction of 3 valve chambers and 2 water tap points

• Improve internal plumbing in OPD, laboratory building for water supply, this include installation of 4 IPC taps and 4 sinks, flushing system.

• Improve of drain trap in the hand wash basin and drain pipes.

• Liaise with Americares Tanzania, Kibondo District Medical Officer, Kibondo RUWASA, Kibondo District Council and Health center’s management frequently and provide regular updates on progress and challenges.

SUMMARY: Delivery Information/Instructions:

• In terms of location, all construction works will be done in the mentioned 4 health centers in Kibondo District, Kigoma region, Tanzania.

• All materials must be new and cannot be refurbished or reclaimed.

• Timeline for project completion: No later than 90 calendar days after acknowledgment of receipt of the first installment

• Contractor must include a repair and defect warranty period of 3 months within their bid to cover all completed works within the RFQ

• Americares will provide no more than 35% of the full cost upon signing of the contract

• Americares staff must be present during completion of works to sign off on work

• Quote must be valid for 30 days from time of submission.

• Require Offerors to provide a description of experience completing similar works within the past five years.

• Require the CV of the head engineer(s) who would be overseeing the work.

• Require Offerors to list of three past complete projects and the telephone number and email address of a client for each of those projects who is willing to provide a reference

• Require Offerors to have business and workers insurance.

• Require Offerors to have legal business registration certificates

Evaluation criteria

Offers will be evaluated based on their responsiveness to the specification, qualifications and experience of the Offeror, price, after sale service, delivery time.

• All interested bidders are invited to pre-bidding meeting which will take place at Kifura, Mabamba, Kagezi and Nyaruyoba health centers in Kibondo District, Kigoma Region on 21^st – 22^nd June 2022 from 10:00am (Optional)

Submission Deadline:

The quote must be received no later than 17:30 hours East African Time on Tuesday, June 28^th, 2022.

Quotations submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
