Job Purpose
The Security Investigator is responsible for conducting professional, objective, and comprehensive investigations into all security-related incidents across HESU and its affiliated companies. The role ensures proper evidence collection, case documentation, risk evaluation, and implementation of corrective measures. The Investigator is further responsible for ensuring proper follow-up of all company cases, including opening official cases at police stations where required, maintaining liaison with law enforcement authorities, and monitoring progress until formal closure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Incident Investigation and Case Management
- Conduct thorough investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, security breaches, property damage, safety violations, and other incidents.
- Collect, preserve, and analyze evidence including CCTV footage, access control logs, witness statements, digital records, and physical exhibits.
- Interview witnesses, suspects, and relevant personnel in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare detailed, factual, and well-structured investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
- Maintain an official case register for all reported incidents.
- Ensure continuous follow-up of all active company cases until formal resolution and closure.
Police Liaison and Legal Follow-Up
- Open official cases at the police station when incidents meet criminal thresholds or as directed by management.
- Ensure timely reporting of criminal matters to relevant law enforcement authorities.
- Follow up regularly with police investigators on the progress of reported cases.
- Attend police interviews, court sessions, or legal proceedings on behalf of the company when required.
- Maintain proper documentation of police case numbers, investigation progress, and outcomes.
- Provide management with updates on all external cases.
Surveillance and Intelligence Gathering
- Monitor and review CCTV systems and other security technologies to detect suspicious activities.
- Conduct discreet or covert investigations where necessary.
- Gather intelligence on internal and external threats affecting company operations.
- Identify patterns, trends, and recurring vulnerabilities.
Risk Assessment and Preventive Measures
- Identify security gaps and operational weaknesses during investigations.
- Recommend corrective and preventive measures to reduce future risks.
- Support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and preventive strategy assessments.
Documentation and Evidence Management
- Maintain secure, organized, and confidential investigation records.
- Ensure strict adherence to chain-of-custody procedures for all evidence.
- Safeguard sensitive information and protect the integrity of investigations.
- Ensure all case files are complete, properly indexed, and archived.
Emergency Response and Crisis Support
- Respond promptly to serious security incidents.
- Lead on-site investigations immediately after incident occurrence.
- Provide professional guidance to site supervisors during crisis situations.
- Support management in crisis containment and mitigation strategies.
Training and Awareness
- Conduct security awareness sessions focusing on fraud prevention, reporting procedures, and evidence preservation.
- Educate supervisors and guards on proper incident reporting standards.
- Promote ethical conduct and compliance culture within the organization.

Authority Level
- Access relevant company records necessary for investigations.
- Interview employees in relation to investigations.
- Recommend disciplinary action based on findings.
- Initiate police reporting with approval from the Security Manager.
