Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) through Global Fund Grants is looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions:

NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS AND LEPROSY PROGRAM

Job Title:  Social Welfare Officer – 1 position

Location: Dodoma

Reporting to: Program Manager – NTLP

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implement adequate support systems for TB patients including those with drug resistant TB, Leprosy and TB/HIV coinfection pertaining to reducing the catastrophic costs to patients such as patient transport and nutrition support
  2. Develop comprehensive TB and DR TB patient support systems plans of actions.
  3. Ensure TB, Leprosy and DR TB patient support systems consistent with national policy guidelines.
  4. Train, supervise and mentor regional and district teams on planned DR TB patient support system
  5. Monitor and evaluate DR TB patient support system in the country

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Social Work or Holder of B.A.(Sociology) or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution
  2. At least 2 years’ experience working with TB and Leprosy Program
  3. Practical knowledge in the field of patient support packages
  4. Good interpersonal and networking skills
  5. Familiar in coordination with Partners, Government Departments and CSOs 
  6. A very good communication and correspondence skills with good spoken Kiswahili and English
  7. Ability to plan and organize work effectively and deal with multiple tasks simultaneously
  8. Experience working with district councils is an added advantage
  9. Age limit:50 years

Terms of Employment: 3 years Contract (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds)
