Position Summary: Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyse daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax laws, and company policies.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and budgeting.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.
• Provide financial advice to management for strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Implement and effective internal controls.
• Perform any other accounting-related duties as may be assigned by management, consistent with the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Must have a CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent certification.
• Over 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, accounting software (others like SAP, Tally are added advantages) and MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzanian tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
