Role Overview
The Assistant Concession Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Concession Manager by overseeing the Wildlife Management Area. This involves ensuring all operations are in strict alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and guidelines set forth by TAWA. Key responsibilities include maintaining vital infrastructure, meticulously monitoring data, coordinating effectively with TAWA, and fostering strong collaborations with the Community Development Manager to engage local communities. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the capability to assume the Concession Manager's duties when required.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Concession Manager will be entrusted with the following critical duties:
- Advise management on strategies for securing, protecting, and maintaining company concessions and valuable assets.
- Provide expert guidance on fostering positive relationships between the company, government institutions, and the general public.
- Serve as a key liaison to manage and facilitate communication between the company, relevant authorities, and local communities.
- Proactively identify potential conflicts or threats and recommend effective, timely solutions.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to strengthen cooperation with government institutions and the public, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Assist in the process of obtaining necessary permits and licenses, ensuring full compliance for all business activities.
- Ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timeline and budget, and that contractors consistently meet agreed-upon terms. ajira
- Maintain robust and collaborative working relationships with TAWA, NCAA, TANAPA, and other esteemed partners, actively promoting trust and mutual collaboration.
- Guide research priorities, seamlessly integrate findings into comprehensive management plans, and support community development initiatives through meticulous project planning, funding, and evaluation.
Professional and Interpersonal Requirements
Education
Applicants should possess:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of Google Suite applications.
Experience and Skills
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in wildlife management.
- In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian hunting and conservation laws.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- The ability to perform effectively under pressure, including working after hours and on weekends.
- GIS experience will be considered a significant advantage.
