Hostel Matron (1 Position)
YWCA Tanzania, Dar es Salaam Branch
Assist in managing hostel operations ensuring safety, cleanliness, and excellent resident relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inquiries, allocate rooms, maintain resident logs, and update communication platforms.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Oversee daily routines, health, and social wellbeing of residents and promote YWCA membership through them.
- Ensure safety and discipline of hostel residents by monitoring security, enforcing hostel rules, managing visitors, and overseeing security.
- Supervise cleanliness, report damages, and ensure water and utilities are available.
- Collect payment bank slips, maintain records, assist with budgeting, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Conduct market research and support resident welfare.
- Be available 24/7 during shifts and assist with other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced secondary education (A Level or equivalent) or any relevant diploma in Education, Theology, or relevant 2 years' experience in similar roles. nafasi za kazi
- Excellent written skills in English and Swahili, with attention to detail, as well as effective communication with staff, visitors, and residents.
- Strong computer skills, including typing, data systems, and internet use.
- Good planning, reporting, and time management abilities.
- Problem-solving skills for quick and accurate resolution.
- Respectful and professional in guest service, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Ability to manage safety, cleanliness, and resident welfare.
- Team player with organizational skills.
