We are currently seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the pivotal role of Revenue Manager at Dar Es Salaam Serena Hotels.
Position Summary:
A Hotel Revenue Manager is entrusted with the critical responsibility of maximizing a hotel's revenue and profitability through astute strategic pricing, meticulous inventory management, and insightful market analysis. This multifaceted role demands a keen understanding of market trends, accurate demand forecasting, proficient management of distribution channels, and the effective implementation of pricing strategies to ensure optimal occupancy rates and Average Daily Rates (ADR).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Balance the financial objectives of all properties to maximize total revenue.
- Oversee all processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting, and opportunity analysis.
- Implement revenue management operations, procedures, and best practices with guidance from the Regional Revenue Manager.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and share them with the hotel commercial team.
- Challenge and influence the hotel to improve service levels and operational standards.
- Oversee the revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day-to-day yield operations.
- Conduct daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments, and reporting.
- Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends using available systems and tools.
- Provide a weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances, and budget comparisons.
- Be responsible for assessing, analyzing, and pricing group business strategies.
- Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide a summary report with recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
- Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated, and working to their full capacity.
- Ensure the website booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
- Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc.).
- Conduct quarterly property performance reviews and develop strategic and tactical actions.
- Uphold best practice standards, including competitor analysis, environmental scanning, market modeling, distribution yield management, business mix yield management, length of stay yield management, inventory availability by channel, pricing control, and new pricing concepts.
- Evaluate the performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc.).
- Conduct periodic audits of supplier contracts and service level agreements.
- Ensure available technology is utilized to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Revenue office operations.
- Provide regular feedback/updates to the unit management team on departmental performance.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Economics, Statistics, or any other Social Sciences.
- A professional certification in a Revenue Management course will be an added advantage.
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar position within a 5-star international property.
