Sales Manager (Mobile Phones)
INDUSTRY: ELECTRONICS
HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Sales Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies within the unorganized retail sector, driving market penetration, expanding distribution, and building strong partnerships to achieve sustainable sales growth of mobile phones and related consumer electronics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the unorganized retail sector, including kiosks, small electronic shops, street vendors, and open-air markets.
- Identify high-potential regions and markets across Tanzania to expand open market coverage and penetration.
- Design and manage product positioning and pricing strategies that appeal to informal retailers and end consumers.
- Identify, onboard, and manage new sales channels, wholesalers, agents, and retail partners within the unorganized retail space.
- Negotiate commercial terms with partners and establish effective distribution models to maximize sales volume and coverage.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess outlet performance, train vendors, and ensure consistent brand representation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners to drive repeat business and long-term collaboration.
- Act as the main point of contact for vendor and market feedback to continuously improve products and customer experience. ajira
- Develop and implement vendor loyalty programs, sales incentives, and reward schemes to enhance engagement and performance.
- Lead, manage, and train regional sales teams, setting clear targets and performance expectations.
- Organize regular training sessions and performance reviews to strengthen sales capability and product knowledge.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators including sales growth, partner onboarding and retention, market coverage, inventory efficiency, and team performance.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in sales and business development, preferably within the mobile phones or consumer electronics sector.
- Strong experience working with the unorganized/informal retail market is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop sales teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office applications.
