School Accountant

SCHOOL ACCOUNTANT
HR WORLD on behalf of our reputable client we're looking for a School Accountant for organising and managing school finances, administering payroll and pension related functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare school’s annual budget, review and update as necessary.
• Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the school’s budget,
• Produce invoices, monthly reports for the Directors, Head teacher and Finance Committee
• Assist in the preparation for the annual audit
• Maintain and oversee all school bank accounts.
• Ensure that the school’s finance policy is reviewed and updated
• Assist in the preparation of accurate VAT accounting/ VAT returns are submitted as required.
• Be responsible for all elements of cash handling including collections and disbursements, banking and security, fundraising and school trips.
• Be responsible for the completion of the school’s payroll.

• Be responsible for the placement of orders ensuring they are processed through the school’s finance accounting package
• Co-ordinate and maintain a list of approved contractors and suppliers to ensure best value.
• Ensure that all the necessary financial data required for payroll, the Teachers’ Pension and Local Government Pension agencies is submitted.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business/Finance.
• Experience: 3+ years’ as an Accountant preferably in a School set-up.
• Holder of Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Association of Chartered Certified Accountant ACCA; will be an added advantage
• Thorough knowledge of advanced accounting procedures and principles
