Sustainable Livelihoods Specialist, Tanzania Natural Resource Management activity (NRM)
Tetra Tech International Development Services , is seeking to hire a qualified Sustainable Livelihoods Specialist, to provide technical and managerial oversight in the development and implementation of strategies to increase environmentally-friendly market-based economic opportunities in priority ecosystems for the most vulnerable populations, for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded biodiversity conservation initiative. The purpose of the activity is to support and strengthen capacity in Tanzania for biodiversity conservation in a manner that i) increases private sector engagement in conservation and NRM; ii) builds the capacity of public sector and civil society; iii) improves the enabling environment; and iv) enhances knowledge management across sectors. Activity interventions together will reduce threats to biodiversity in Tanzania while moving Tanzanian institutions further on their journey to self-reliance.
Qualifications:
*7+ years’ experience designing and implementing rural natural resource-based sustainable livelihoods programs, with communities living within the priority ecosystems; experience with sustainable agriculture preferred.
*Experience understanding and improving the socio-economic circumstances of vulnerable populations living within the priority ecosystems.
*Master’s degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline.
*Excellent communication skills in English.
